Konrad Organic Sauvignon Blanc
Marlborough
Available by the dozen
The terroir and microclimes of Marlborough yield a tremendous quality of Sauvignon Blanc, fruit which ripens to perfection, translating into wines of intense regional character. Konrad Hengstler delights in formulating a slightly more herbaceous nose than most efforts from Marlborough, in total harmony against a backdrop of unctuous lemongrass and lime characters, persimmons and citrus/ lychee fruits. Bright and zingy, a lively mouthful of pineapples and passionfruit before a lingering, mineral finish. Clean fresh and bright, with a quenching underlying citrus character, finely balanced acid and ripe fruit structure.

Kreglinger Vintage Brut
Pipers Brook
Available in cartons of six
From a dedicated sparkling wine vineyard, planted to a high density Pinot Chardonnay block of significant age, at the highly propitious climes of latitude 41° south. The cool coastal slopes of Pipers Brook and the southeast facing terroir of Kreglinger Vineyard, yield a truly exceptional wine. The nation's most refined and artisanal Methode Traditionelle, an addition of liqueur de dosage at disgorgement has added further richness and complexity to the already multi layered palate. The most refined Cordon de Mousse forming an effervescent necklace of petulantly popping pearl beads.

Fruit is grown on narrow spaced vineyards to vertically shoot positioned vines, hand pruned in winter and hedge trimmed in summer, hand nurtured through to ripeness. Grapes are all hand picked in small parcel lots and carefully transported to the nearby winery where they are delicately pressed within an hour. A Bucher airbag press is applied with a modified champagne cycle, to produce around 450-550 litres per tonne of free run juice from the whole bunch pressed grapes. Base wines are tank and barrel fermented, a small percentage is aged on lees until tirage. The wine is celared for bottle fermentation until disgorgement, followed by some time on cork prior to release.

Polished diamond hues, a very fine, persistent bead. Biscuits and yeast, honey, nougat and layers of spice, perfumed talc balanced against the subtle tones of cashew and brie. A captivating, long, rich and balanced palate, sophisticated and beautifully defined, freshly baked apple pastries melt in your mouth, long and elegant, a crisp and dry, lingering finish.
Kreglinger Vintage Brut Rose
Pipers Brook
Available in cartons of six
Single vineyard Pinot Noir, hand picked off superior Kreglinger estate blocks at Pipers Brook, fruit is painstakingly sorted for excellence and gently whole bunch pressed. Nothing but the purest primary juices are extracted for an old world style ferment in seasoned French oak, full malolactic and nine months of repose to infuse texture and luxurious creaminess. The best barrels of vintage are identified for inclusion into the final Cuvée, bottled under liqueur dosage and sent for a secondary ferment in bottle over the course of ten years maturation.

Kumeu River Pinot Gris
Auckland
Available in cartons of six
Kumeu River was a pioneer of the New Zealand winemaking industry, established in 1944 when the Brajkovich family settled at Kumeu just outside of Auckland. The estate makes some of New Zealand's finest Chardonnay and is equally adept at some of the more esoteric varietals. All their offerings have shown well at competitions and they excel at Pinot Gris. The estate's Auckland vineyards enjoy beautiful ripening conditions, encouraging the fruit to achieve a level of rich concentration and luscious textures, a very layered and complex Pinot Gris wine.

Kumeu River endeavours to grow grapes of the highest standard and then treat them with respect, painstakingly turning the finest fruit into outstanding wine. The quality is maximised to the fullest extent, delivering wines that are truly representative of the land. Faulty berries are removed in the field, and the best grapes arrive at the winery in pristine condition. Hand picked, bunch pressed Pinot Gris is treated to a wild indigenous yeast vinification over an extended period, followed by partial malolactic. Ferments are arrested before completely dry, several grams per litre of residual sugar are hardly noticeable due to the concentration of flavour and textural richness.

Light green yellow colour. Aromas of peach and stone fruit notes tinged with the floral perfume that we have come to expect from Pinot Gris. On the palate the wine is rich and complex with an oily texture that coats the tongue and lingers on the palate, with a lovely length of flavour. Pinot Gris is a variety that goes particularly well with food, including quite intensely flavoured dishes.
