The Chabot family established their repute in the wines and spirits trade circa 1828. Based in the village of Labastide d'Armagnac, Chabot came to the attention of Cognac man Michel Camus, who was instrumental in making Chabot into Armagnac's biggest export. Armagnac is distilled in much lesser quantities and by much smaller producers than neighbouring Cognac, achieving a finer, more complex, oak influenced spirit

Chabot V.S.O.P Armagnac 700ml
Armagnac is made in the southern province of Gascony. There are three appellations, Bas Armagnac, Haut Armagnac and Tenareze. Armagnac is the finest of all the French distillates and is mentioned in records dating back to the 15th century. The Chabot family can trace the origins of their production to the village of Labastide D'Armagnac. Winemakers and suppliers of wine grapes, they established their own brand in 1828. Chabot remains family owned and operated, one of the most significant exporters of exceptionally fine Eaux de Vie in France

Chabot distill their Eaux de Vie in a column still and mature their Armagnac in black oak. Over the years the spirit mellows, extracting colour and flavor from the cask. The spirit evaporates over time as the angels take their share, concentrating the fruit and developing complexity. The Chabot family traditionally employed geese as guardians of the premises where the oldest Armagnac Brandies were kept, reposing under the deep, dark ageing cellars. Better than dogs and almost carefree, they prevented any attempt on strangers to penetrate the Chais. The tradition of making peerless quality Armagnac remains after 150 years, but Chabot no longer use geese to safeguard their ageing stocks of Armagnac

A brilliant shade of copper. Fine, lifted, perfumed bouquet, a nose that has a slight smell of white plums and a touch of fragrant oak. Almonds and toasted pear with a hint of scorched sugar cane. Round in the mouth, long, lingering, balanced flavours, with pleasing wood aromas, a neat lengthy taste, quite sweet with a spicy tail

Double-distilled from the four finest Crus of the Cognac region, Courvoisier is matured in barrels handcrafted from oak trees grown in the Limousin region of France. The story of Courvoisier begins in Paris, where Felix Courvoisier started his career in the wine and spirits wholesale business, supplying to the Imperial Court of Napoleon. Legend holds that Napoleon took several barrels of cognac into exile with him, a gesture much appreciated by his English guards, who coined the phrase ‘the Brandy of Napoleon'.

The Courvoisier Company flourished producing cognacs of the very finest quality. The cognacs Felix Courvoisier created have changed very little, and Courvoisier is still made with grapes grown only in the Cognac region. Golden in the glass and voluptuous in the mouth, this is quite possibly the world's finest cognac. Always bold, always opulent, Courvoisier is recognizable by the trademark Josephine bottle and the famous sillhouette of Napoleon on the label. It is double-distilled in traditional red copper Charentais alembic pot stills then aged in barrels handcrafted from oak grown in the Limousin area.
Delamain Pale Dry Cognac XO 700ml
Produced exclusively from Grande Champagne, the first growth of Cognac, aged for many long years. An assemblage of old Grande Champagne Eaux de Vie, each Cognac is separately matured in well seasoned Limousin oak casks. Draped in bright, light amber robes with flashes of gold, named Pale because it is discernibly paler than most other Cognacs of it's age, and Dry because it retains only the natural sweetness of the distillate. The humid old cellars near the river infuse Delamain with intense perfumes and exceptional length of fragrance
