The Piedmont region of northwest Italy has been producing Asti since the 1850s, Riccadonna Asti is naturally fermented and contains no added sugar or carbon dioxide. After crushing, the juice of the Moscato Bianco is preserved in very large bottles until market demand calls for a new batch. The juice is brought to temperature, and innoculated with yeast so that fermentation can begin. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is chilled, to preserve the unique fruit flavours and to capture the naturally occuring effervescence. Following quality inspection and taste testing, the precious Riccadonna wine is carefully filtered, and sealed into individual bottles, ready to enjoy. Alcohol 7.0%

Riccadonna Asti is a pale gold colour with a fine persistent bead. The bead is finer due to the lower fizziness, a character of quality Asti. The bouquet is pleasantly fragrant with inviting floral Muscat fruit characters. The palate is dominated by fresh, rich and flavoursome fruit complemented by a touch of sweetness. A marvelousy effervescent wine full of fresh grapey cahracters, the sweetness contributes to the roundness and attractive mouthfeel whilst the cleansing acidity is present to balance the wine. The finish is soft and lingering with soft fruit, nuances of outdoors picnics, and hints of summer blossom flavours. Elements of honey and natural, sweet fruit characterise the elegant and balanced finish.

Produced and bottled in Italy, Riccadonna is not only Australia's biggest selling Asti brand, it is also the biggest selling imported wine in Australia! Riccadonna Ruby is made according to a unique autoclave process, which calls for initial storage in immense bottles to control the development of the wine. In this process the pressings are filtered and then stored at near freezing temperatures so that fermentation can't begin. Riccadonna make batches according to demand so that the Ruby can be as fresh as possible. Due to its low alcohol level of eight per cent, Riccadonna Ruby is an excellent wine for any occasion, perfect with all desserts and a must for any celebration all year round.

Colour is a bright ruby. The aromas are rich and intense with delicate overtones, suggestive of acacia, wisteria flowers and orange blossom. Lively flavours on the palate, there are stonefruits and dark brooding berries, cherry and red delicious apple, nuances of chocolate and rosewater, hints of tukish delight and orange liqueur bonbons. Superb texture, a creaminess resultant from the supple effervescence, tittilatingly refreshing with a dessert-like appeal that sits comfortably against it's delicate acidity. A medium bodied, stylish wine, the sultry palate is packed with red berry fruit and floral, blossom flavours. Hints of honey and natural, sweet fruit characterise the elegant and balanced finish.
