The focus at Bream Creek is on painstakingly managing vines by hand to yield small quantities of pristine fruit for the vinification of classic cool climate Tasmanian wines. Gewürtztraminer loves the cold. Slow ripening gives berries time to develop stimulating flavours and spicey fruit characters.

The aromatic white varietals at Bream Creek are generally whole bunch pressed with a regimen of skin contact to achieve exquisite balance and fine structure. All the vines are meticulously hand crafted to capitalise on the stunning flavours that originate from predominantly mature stock which makes the wines very special. The original consortium which founded Bream Creek in 1973 planted Gewurztraminer to soils that were earmarked for their exceptional affinity to this pungent varietal. The estate was acquired in 1990 by one one of Tasmania's leading viticulturalists and has since become renowned for the quality and consistency of Tasmania's most representative boutique wines. Alcohol 13.8%
 
Mid straw colour. Opens with attractive lychee, perfume, blossom, rose and spice scents. The palate has plenty of fresh lively flavours, lovely fruit depth and a persistent zippy, zesty finish. Superb with Asian style cuisine and the freshest Tasmanian seafood.

Chalk Hill Blue Riesling Gewurztraminer 2013
The topical Alsation cépage of Riesling with Traminer, Chalk Hill Blue is a consistent performer around the national wine show circuit, for its ebullient, spiced floral fruit characters and seamless complexity. Established 1886 with a view to crafting medicinal elixirs for the well being of body and soul, Angove now host some of the most splendid vineyards across South Australia. The quality of Angove's fruit lies at the core of this exquisite accord of varietal grapes, the essence and redolence of Alsace, in a cleanly perfumed Aussie styling.

An assemblage of the best parcels Riesling and Traminer, sourced off the Angove family’s Nanya vineyards, vinified alongside select harvests from excellent sites along the River Murray. Soils are predominantly red sandy loam over limestone, on gently undulating east west ridges. Grapes are picked throughout the chill of night to retain the crispness of fruit at lower temperatures, parcels are transported to the Renmark wineworks and treated to a membrane tank press. After a spell of cold settling, the clarified juices are racked to cooled fermenters and inoculated with choice yeasts. Minimal handling and light filtration captures the vitality that's so essential to a Traminer Riesling blend.
 
Pale straw with green hues. Distinctive floral characters of Riesling are lifted by the aromatically precocious Gewurztraminer. The palate delivers citrus and lime, rose petals and spice, before a splendidly clean finish. A juicy natural acidity contributing to excellent palate weight and flavour persistence overall, superb as accompaniment too spiced recipes and the freshest fish.
Delatite Dead Mans Hill Gewurztraminer 2014

Gewurtztraminer was one of Delatite's first plantings, it has continued to deliver the most memorable, award winning vintages. Deadman's Hill is widely regarded as the benchmark in Australia, the first Traminer ever to be selected for Qantas International First Class. Deadman's Hill is a hundred metres higher than the other vineyards at Delatite and has been dry grown for most of it's life. It was the first part of the vineyard to be converted to Bio Dynamics and like all other blocks at Delatite, it is completely pruned and picked by hand.

The steep ironstone slopes and crisp mountain airs at Delatite provide an idyllic mesoclime for the spicey Gewurtztraminer, which demands slow ripening to develop fully. Hand pruned, hand picked and patiently sorted by the winemakers themselves, fruit is whole bunch pressed, the musts are chilled and left in the press for a term of cold soak. Some of the settling lees are retained within the clear juices as indigenous yeasts begin a wild ferment, slow and cool for a month. A component is treated to vinification in larger format oak vats for richness and complexity. Batches are held on lees for with periodic stirring to infuse yeast autolysis, bottled with minimum fuss for the retention of pure varietal charm.
 
A straw coloured wine. The aromas are a melange of cinnamon and clove, rose petal, lychee and musk which follow through to the richly flavoured palate. Flavours of hazelnut and toast, cardammon, lychee and ginger biscuit, clove and turkish delights. Decidedly Traminer, a wine which deserves to be appreciated today alongside crustacea, Asian recipes and all spiced faire.
Gapsted Fruity Moscato

Inspired by the lush fruitiness of the Italian classic Moscato d'Asti, Gapsted is a blend in name and in style, of the piquant Traminer Musque grape and the wickedly luscious Frontignac Muscato bianco. Traminer is sourced from Whitlands Vineyard, grown to the higher, elevated aspects of Valley King, picked early to retain freshness and lively fruit character. This slightly spritzy Moscato drinks well on its own but also suits a range of lighter desserts such as pannacotta or soft cheese, dried fruits or peach almond recipes.

The Gapsted team live and work in the heart of the King and Alpine Valleys of Victoria’s high country. The vibrant Alpine fruit characters of Traminer are a result of cool breezes and snow run off in spring, which provides abundant clear, fresh water to the Whitlands vineyard. The cool ripening conditions prevent high levels of transpiration, allowing the Traminer to retain natural acids, sugars and lifted fruit flavours. A very slow, and cold controlled ferment at seven degrees for five weeks, ensured retains fresh crisp varietal characters. Fermentation is stopped at six degrees of baume by chilling the wine and fining. Some naturally occurring CO2 is retained in the wine for a light frizzante style. Alcohol 6.5%
 
Bright pale straw hues. Exotic florals with hints of middle eastern spice, aromas of rose petal and spicey musk, pears and turkish delight. The palate is alive with fresh peaches and grape, an intensely flavoured wine with florals and five spice, generous and poised. Sweet but not cloying, light fizz tickles the palate and finishes refreshingly clean, with a superb lingering fruit finish. A match to fine cheeses, fresh fruit and your favourite desserts.
Hugel Classic Gewurztraminer 2014

The great speciality of Alsace, it is only here that the piquant aromaticness and decadent richness of Gewurztraminer achieves such opulence. A long cool growing season is essential, the temperate yet sunny days and clear chilly nights of Riquewihr, ripen Gewurztraminer at a slow steady pace, infusing grapes with acrid florals, turkish delights and maghrebi spice. Pungent yet suave, it can be enjoyed on its own but makes a marvellous accompaniment to full flavoured cuisines, smoked meats and curries, tanjin or well spiced faire.

A backbone of estate grown Gewurztraminer is vinified alongside harvests from the best local growers. Fruit is picked by hand, off vines twenty five years of age, planted to clay and limestone soils in a dozen of the finest winegrowing precincts of Riquewihr. Grapes are taken in small tubs to a gravity filled press and filled without any pumping or mechanism to retain integrity of fruit. Juices are decanted for a few hours and fermented in temperature controlled barrels or vats at 18°C to 24°C. Upon completion, batches are racked and treated to a natural clarification throughout the course of winter. The assemblage is lightly filtered in spring, bottled and sent to the Hugel estate cellars for a term of ageing.
 
Deep lemon hue. A fresh, open bouquet, fruity and aromatic, agreeably perfumed but not excessively, mango and passion fruits, pineapple and floral botes, jasmine and rose petal, acacia blossom, almond and pistachio. A velvety palate, offering a generosity of fruit, citrus and spice characters, lifted by an aromatic freshness at the finish. Enjoy now alongside your favourite food for its exemplary varietal character and youthful charm.

The splendid Alsatian tradition, of assembling wines across a number of varietals, into a whole that's greater than the sum of parts. Hugel offers the suave, spicyness of Gewurztraminer, the body of Pinot Gris and finesse of Riesling, grapiness of Muscat and refreshing character of Sylvaner, within a single, exquisitely balanced wine. The long and cool growing season of the Riquewihr plateau, makes a major contribution to the cohesion of this unique, dry wine, adding finesse and encouraging a harmonious integration of the complex characters.

A kaleidoscope of varietal fruit characters, assembled from exclusively hand picked grapes, off vines twenty five years of age, predominantly planted to clay and limestone soils, in a dozen of the finest precincts in and around Riquewihr. Peter Lehmann retains access to some of the most salubrious vineyards in all South Australia. Layers is a melange of flavour drawn from five varietal grapes. When once asked why the Barossa could make so many different good wines, Peter Lehmann replied that it was plainly so. It's all about the Barossa's viticultural heritage, its ability to excel across a range of styles and its reputation as Australia's great winemaking region. Barossa grown Chardonnay and Semillon, Adelaide Plains Muscat, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris from the Adelaide Hills, are all treated to a cold fermentation in temperature controlled tanks followed by an early bottling to achieve a lively, fresh yet complex white wine. Alcohol 11.5%
 
Attractive pale yellow with green tints. Aromas of citrus, hints of peach and an aromatic lifted from the spicey fruit.
