Alkoomi make use of water supplied from on site dams efficiently to prevent vine stress during extended dry periods without sacrificing the naturally low yields that produce concentrated flavours. The vines are all pruned by hand, harvesting occurs in the cool of the morning, usually starting at 2.00 am, to ensure that grapes arrive at the winery in top condition. The winery is completely self-contained, including bottling, labelling and packaging. Chardonnay grapes are picked in the second week of February having achieved the perfect baumes and pH levels for this style of wine. Alkoomi was tank fermented and bottled immediately after vinification to retain freshness. Alcohol 13.3%

Annie's Lane cuts through one of the Clare Valley's first vineyards. To this day, the Annie's Lane team retain some of the most distinguished sites and secure the best quality grapes. Harvests of Chardonnay are sourced which can weigh in with the smallest berries, show great colour and offer the biggest flavours. Some thinning of the vines during the growing season keeps the fruit flavours and palate weight developing. Following the crush, unclarified juices are left to settle and racked off lees before a portion is fermented in oak, combining the bright fruit driven characters with a touch of nutty, leesy complexity. The remainder is tank vinified, slow and cool, retaining the vital regional charm of Clare Valley Chardonnay.

Pale straw with green hues. Aromas of peach and cinnamon develop into lively varietal flavours across the soft and full flavoured palate. Citrus notes, grapefruit and integrated background oak characters create complexity. Enjoy Annies Lane with Alfresco cuisine and chicken pasta recipes.

Vinified predominantly from fruit grown to very low yielding Mendoza clones planted on the neighbouring Craighall property over twenty years ago. Hand picked grapes are whole bunch pressed through a Willmes membrane. Indigenous yeasts are employed to fully ferment the freshly pressed, unsettled juice at temperatures of 15ºC to 20ºC in a combination of new and used Burgundian oak barriques. These wild yeasts slow the onset and duration of ferments, achieving a textural, multi faceted wine. Lees stirring is employed to enhance complexity and vinosity. Some components are treated to malolactic and ferments are arrested as requisite balance is reached. Aged in barrel on lees for nine months.

A creamy, mealy character further fills out the perfectly balanced palate.
