Dolcetto translates into little sweet one, although the Italians generally make dry red wines from the variety. Brown Brothers, attracted by its vibrant red colour and attractive flavours of ripe summer berries, has opted to blend the precocious Dolcetto with a component of Syrah to produce a youthful, distinctively fruit driven wine. Parcels of Dolcetto and Shiraz grapes were harvested from highly specialized vineyards at ripe levels of baumé ranging from 13.0° to 15%0°. The fruit was treated to a temperature controlled vinification, which was arrested before completion to retain a little natural sweetness and carbon dioxide, to be bottled immediately following fermentation. Alcohol 10.0%

Fresh and fruity, a bright red/ magenta colour. The nose displays prominent cherry and berry aromas, lifted bouquets of red jubes, blackcurrant, red berries and hints of spice. A silky, juicy palate full of fresh summer berries and depth of flavour. This well structured wine exhibits an integrated natural grape sweetness and a gentle frizzante providing a fresh mouthfeel and a clean and lingering finish. The Shiraz component of the cépage provides length and ensures that the wine is not cloying on the finish. A small amount of sweetness and a little bit of fizz combine with fruit flavours to make a refreshing and totally fun wine. Enjoy chilled or at room temperature whilst young and vibrant.

Gapsted's crafted a finely honed blend of Dolcetto and Syrah, sensationally balanced, refreshing and inimitable in it's reflection of high country climes. The elevated altitude of vineyards, cool Alpine breezes and snow run-off in spring, are all contributors to this unique wine blend's delightfuly flavoured, satisfyingly quenching nature.

The cool ripening conditions prevent high levels of transpiration thus allowing grapes to retain natural acids, sugars and esters, creating intense, lifted fruit flavours. The soft morning sunlight, essential for photosynthesis, is the most effective in producing the intense fruit characters of the Dolcetto and Syrah. By shielding the grapes from the afternoon sun, using specifically developed canopy management systems, the protection of delicate fruit flavours is assured. Intensive vineyard management combined with cool nights stimulate vines to yield harvests of flavourful, fully ripened Dolcetto and Syrah grapes.

Bright scarlet colour. Fruity and fragrant aromas of Dolcetto combine with spice and pepper of Syrah for a luscious and powerfully fruit driven wine. The Shiraz backbone is weighty with blueberry and blackberry flavours, pepper and cedar, kept vibrant by sour cherry acidity. The palate closes sweet and slightly frizzante with a long pleasant finish. Serve well chilled on its own or with most any cuisine, it's the perfect match to a platter of fresh cherries and homemade paté.

Dolcetto is sourced from good vineyards in the Barossa and Limestone Coast. Grant Burge include only those parcels which can best display the engaging varietal characteristics of the Dolcetto grape to create a wine that's refreshingly fruit driven yet appealingly complex and well balanced. Bunches are destemmed and lightly crushed to retain primary fruit flavours, components are kept separate throughout the winemaking process. Juices are vinified at 20ºC to retain vibrant fruit flavours, the fermentations are stopped early to retain natural sweetness. Upon completion the wine is immediately bottled in order to retain carbon dioxide, a natural by product of the fermentation, to be slightly frizzanté.

Vibrant red with purple hues, a reflection of the bright fruit characters indicative of the style. Aromas of black cherries and red liquorice leap from the glass and follow through on to the palate, supported by plum and sweet spice, cinnamon and nutmeg. This fresh, lively and dangerously easy to drink Dolcetto is slightly sweet, but with enough fine grape tannins for balance and to deliver a refreshing finish.
