Piper-Heidsieck Brut NV
French Champagnes, Reims
Piper-Heidsieck Cuvee Brut is an exceptionally well balanced Champagne, fresh and lively, with light aromas of citrus fruit and spring flowers. Piper-Heidsieck Brut brings its own lively, vivacious and exuberant character to dry Champagne's traditional elegance and finesse. Piper-Heidsieck's Cuvee Brut combines 50 rigorously selected growths. The wine's harmony develops over the course of slow ageing under the Piper-Heidsieck chalk cellars. The inclusion of Pinot Noir and Meunier contributes flavour, structure and elegance.
Piper-Heidsieck boasts one of the largest selections of Crus, representing all the nuances of Champagne's splendid terroir, including choice parcels of Grands and Premiers Crus, a guarantee of quality. Vinification has always been conducted to an uncompromising attention for detail. Each Cru and grape variety is vinified separately. Reserve wines from earlier years are added to create a more rounded wine and ensure consistency of the Piper-Heidsieck style. Ultimately, assembling the components determines integrity, the art of blending, where human input is of paramount importance. The man in the shadows, the man of magic, is Regis Camus, Piper-Heidsieck's master winemaker.
A sparkling clarity, handsome gold hue. A nose reminiscent of spring blossom, hawthorn, fruity notes, summer apple and pear, then citrus before hints of warm toastyness. Lively and fresh palate, citrus notes take on maturity, passion with gentleness, lightness with spontaneity. Gentle toasty flavours support a framework of fresh flowers, juicy apple and citrus, finishing immaculately clean. A wine which celebrates la joie de vivre and the pleasure of getting together with the people we enjoy.
Piper-Heidsieck's champagnes explode with aromas just like fireworks

These are wines with a touch of spring, bursting with aromas of white flowers and fruits on the tree, a palette of notes ranging from hawthorn to apple.

Florens-Louis Heidsieck was the son of a Lutheran minister from Westphalia. He moved to Reims to work as a cloth merchant, and discovered winemaking there. He started making his own wine in 1780, and while he was neither a viticulturist nor a native of Reims, he displayed talent and worked hard at his new-found profession. He founded his own House on 16 July 1785. He had already become an expert in his art, and even dedicated one of his wines to Queen Marie-Antoinette. Moreover, he was granted the honour of presenting it to Her Majesty in person. - Piper-Heidsieck

Piper was exceptionally gifted in business and as an entrepreneur of his time, he travelled the world promoting Heidsieck champagne. Fourteen royal and imperial courts made the House their official supplier, and quite soon, "Heidsieck from Piper" was the only champagne which true aficionados would drink. And thus the wine with quality standards rigorously defined by Florens-Louis Heidsieck himself very quickly became known as "Piper-Heidsieck".

Over the centuries, a relationship based on trust and proximity has been developed between Piper-Heidsieck and the grapegrowers from around 180 villages, some of whom have supplied grapes to the House for several generations

Piper-Heidsieck boasts one of the largest selection of crus, which represents all the nuances of the Champagne terroir and includes both Grands Crus and Premiers Crus, a guarantee of the quality of the brand's different cuv?es.

Vinification has always been the perfect illustration of Piper-Heidsieck's know-how. Each cru and grape variety is vinified separately. This demanding method respects the various personalities of the Champagne grapes and crus and enables the complexity of the terroir to be fully expressed while ensuring that the blends for the different wines can be carefully elaborated and adjusted.

Everything depends on the art of blending, where human input is of paramount importance. The man in the shadows, the man of magic, is R?gis Camus, Piper-Heidsieck's winemaker. - Piper-Heidsieck - Piper-Heidsieck
This passionate enthusiast feels he does not play the role of wizard but acts as the conductor of a large orchestra. Blending a wine is not the result of chance or improvisation

The winemaker must find the perfect balance between aromas and flavours to recreate the Piper-Heidsieck style. With discreet touches and nuances, the wine thus takes form. Pinot Noir provides strength and structure, which together with the elegance and freshness of Chardonnay, lend Piper-Heidsieck cuv?es their distinctive style, a characteristic of the great Champagne Houses.
