Torres has been associated with innovative vineyard management and quality driven winemaking for decades. Since they became the first in Spain to use stainless steel equipment, Torres have produced outstanding old world wines from the traditional Spanish varietals. Great significance is placed on selection of site, the altitude and microclimate of the vineyards. A mostly Tempranillo wine with a smaller portion of Cabernet Sauvignon. Cultivated in Central Penedès, inland Catalonia and many other parts of Spain, the Tempranillo berries are moderately sized, with good dark colour and a hard skin. Torres was treated to maturation in Americano 300 litros quercas barriques para doces meses!

An opaque ruby red colour. Generous and intense varietal aromas, hints of blackcurrant and vegemite, bay leaf, curant and olive. The lingering bouquet offers up a complexity of red fruits, tobacco and sour cherry. Some florals appear over a background of blackberry and scorched earth, coffee and thyme. A lingering, fruity finish with lively acid structure and affable tannins, in a wine that would blissfully suit a standing rib roast.

Mostly Garnacha Tinta grown to the Mas Nerola vineyard in Middle Penedès and the Serra d'Almos in Montsant. A third of Cariñena from one of Torres most famous vineyards, the Les Muralles situated around the Conca de Barberà. This superlative vineyard produces Cariñena of exceptional quality. Cariñena is a rough grape from a broken home with many problems, mostly used for blending, ubiquitously grown around the Mediterrannean where it basks in the dry climate. When cultivated under trying conditions to poor soils, it produces robust wines of high alcohol potential, rich pigment and extract. Two weeks skin contact and aged for six months in a mix of American and French oak barrels.

Deep ruby colour with a hint of ochre. Rich complex Mediterranean aromas with exuberant notes of blackberry and spice. The fruit flavours are ample and generous, offering an engaging complexity as they develop into savoury, herbaceous characters. Velvety tannins support expressions of licorice and a concentratation of savoury fruit. Superb with pastas and roasts, casseroles or game, Asian and traditional Mediterranean cuisine.

Parellada is the finest and most delicate of the traditional Catalan wine grapes. When grown to the cool mountain climes of Upper Penedès, it yields a splendid style of wine. The process required to achieve a pure, clean and seductive style of Catalan white, just as we understand them today, proved very difficult for the old world winemakers until recent times. Torres have refined cutting edge techniques of specialized viticulture to capture and retain the unique expressions of Parellada grape in the finished wine. By harnessing the virtues of the elements, terroir and clime, harvests of Parellada are transformed by the hands of experience into distinctive Catalan wines that are distinctively elegant and fresh.

Light straw yellow with greenish hue. Intense nose with outstanding notes of flowers and ripe fruits, bananas and pear, apples and peach, combined with a delightful touches of citrus and mandarin zest. A firm and fresh palate exhibiting great length of flavour, elegantly structured with fine minerality over the delicate fruity background, drying and crisp before a clean, lingering finish.
