A generously flavoured Marlborough wine which has claimed highly coveted accolades at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards. Tylers Stream is a boutique operation which continues to grow from strength to strength. Completely unoaked, in easy drinking styling, it sings of kiwifruit and lychee. Many of the contributing vines surround the winery itself, whence the Tyler Stream flows closely by. Kiwifruit, lemongrass and passion throughout, firm but balanced acid backbone, a generous wine of concentration and poise.

The long cool growing seasons of these highly favourable microclimes, as characterised by warm sunny days and cool nights, achieve fruit with good natural acidity and clean, fresh flavours. Soil profiles, vineyard practices and levels of fruit maturity at harvest all contribute complexity to the finished wine. Tylers Stream is crafted by Andrew Hedley from parcels of choice Sauvignon Blanc, fashioned into a clean and forward drinking, unwooded fruit driven styling without any exposure to oak.

The Mediterranean climate features mild, wet winters and warm, dry summers, ideal for the growth of high quality fruit. Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc flourish in these climes, developing distinctive regional characters not found anywhere else in Australia. Ripening conditions provide the varietal definition and aromatic qualities which make Margaret River so unique. Grapes are picked to modest levels of sugar baume, capturing fine aromas, crisp primary fruit flavours and good, clean acid structure. The juices are fermented under cool conditions with specially selected yeasts, completely unoaked to preserve the vitally crisp bouquet and flavours.

Bright pale straw, fresh green hue. Lifted citrus aromas are supported beautifully by nuances of passionfruit with hints of yellow rose, orange and lemon rind. The palate is zesty and vibrant, with fresh fruit sweetness adding a juicy succulence to the pure fruit characters. From fruit grown to Templar Vineyard in Marlborough’s Awatere Valley, fully BioGro Certified. This low cropping site is managed with a focus on enhancing soil vitality to grow healthy and balanced vines, employing organic methods to work in complete harmony with nature. The most pristine grapes have been secured for Cellar Selection, the harvesting carried out with inscrutable timing to capture all the naturally juicy flavours. A fresh, fruit driven Sauvignon Blanc with lithe passionfruit, kiwi and citrus characters from nose, through palate to finish.

$2399each $287DOZEN EACH DOZEN Templar Vineyard occupies two gently sloping terraces above Awatere River, each picked to optimal flavour ripeness and processed separately to provide a number of blending options. All parcels spend time on skin contact to enhance the intensity, followed by a gentle press, cold settling and racking. Cool fermentations are employed to retain purity of flavour and aromatics. Upon completion, batches remain on yeast lees for several months to build richness and mouthfeel. Components are racked and assembled, gently fined, filtered and immediately bottled, preserving the purity of flavour, freshness and superb palate richness.
