The contributions of the Stanton and Killeen families to the history of Rutherglen and to the development of Australia's most exclusive wine region are the stuff of legend. John Richard Stanton continued to improve and expand the business, founding the magnificent Park View winery. Some of the original vineyards planted by Jack Stanton in 1921 are still operational and produce the finest fruit in the district. The most notable being the old Shiraz vines which provide the most distinguished material for S&K's famous Vintage Port. Six different varieties must be picked and fermented separately, assessed, aged and artisanally assembled before maturation in large 2500 litres, well seasoned oak casks, followed by a further spell of bottle age before release. Alcohol 18.0%

A viscous, deeply coloured wine. Lifted brandy spirit and dark cherry fruit dominate, blackberries and a wonderful spirit integration. More berries on the palate together with plums, spice and white pepper are rounded out with gentle chalky tannins. Spiced blackberry and black cherry flavours combine to round out the wonderfully soft finish. As always balance is the key, an harmonious combination of fruit, tannin and acid.
