From fruit grown to the Dante and Churchview Estate vineyards within the Willyabrup district of Margaret River. Parcels of grapes are selected from the choicest blocks with a view to creating a fully integrated Chardonnay wine with the requisite balance and optimum flavour profile. The traditional approach to winemaking at Howling Wolves is facilitated by state of the art technology. Chardonnay is harvested throughout the cool of night and immediately treated to a gentle press. Juices are vinified with a small proportion of solids to improve texture and mouthfeel. Upon completion, the wine is cold stabilised, filtered and promptly bottled to retain freshness and vibrancy, completely unoaked to articulate varietal regionality.
 
Pale straw colour. Peaches and cream nose with lifted pear and tropical fruits. Medium to full bodied, a fully flavoured, well rounded palate, rich and soft, highlighted by ripe tropical flavours before a warm lingering finish. Howling Wolves drinks at it's best immediately upon release, perfect with grilled fish or creamy chicken curries.
Hugo Estate Chardonnay
McLaren Vale

Grazing pastures invariably make the most auspicious soils for winegrowing. Hugo owe their splendid provenance to a mixed farm which ran sheep and assorted cattle, dairy and tomatoes, almonds and of course grapes. Chardonnay vineyards came much later, but McLaren Vale, influenced by balmy maritime climes and populated by olive groves, is highly favourable to white grapes. Hugo choose to frame the natural charm of McLaren Vale Chardonnay with a supple touch of oak, allowing the fruit to speak for itself, a ripe peach and nectarine style, perfect for chicken caesar or salade niçoise.

Ingoldby can boast the Midas touch with Chardonnay, fashioned to the traditional McLaren Vale style, always displaying lovely elegance and finesse, a rejuvenating wine of focus and length. The citrus, nectarine and soft creamy buttery finish makes Ingoldby the perfect Chardonnay to accompany fresh white fleshed fishes, which we should all be eating twice weekly.

The Ingoldby name has been associated with McLaren Vale agriculture for over a century, however it was not until the late 1960s that Jim Ingoldby put the family name on a label. Since that time, Ingoldby have released a profound succession of award winning wines. Harvests of Chardonnay are pressed off skins, half the juices are fermented in seasoned French oak barrels, treated to lees battonage and malolactic for added complexity. Some batches are matured six months in oak barrel, the balance is vinified and held in fermenters to retain freshness. Components are assessed to determine the optimal balance of bright lifted fruit flavours and leesy oak complexity before assembling into the final wine.
 
Pale straw in colour. Lovely intense stone fruit characters of nectarine and peach, beautifully integrated with nut and nougat aromas, fresh honey butter legs around the rim of the glass, all supported by well balanced oak. A creamy palate offering lovely fresh characters, zestyness and excellent length. With just the faintest touch of oak, the focus is on clean citrus fruit, with nice texture and length of flavour on the back of the palate.
Jacobs Creek Reserve Chardonnay

Blocks of Chardonnay which can offer the quality of fruit essential for Jacobs Creek Reserve are regularly visited by winemakers to determine optimum harvest throughout the cool of night and early morning. Parcels are pressed and skin contact is kept to a minimum. Juices are cold settled and clarified into a selection of seasoned and new French oak barrels, inoculated to a mixture of wild and cultured yeasts. Batches complete their ferments and a course of malolactic, followed by a regimen of lees stirring battonage, which infuses the palate with luxurious vanilla biscuit characters and contributes creamy textural richness to the finished wine.
 
Vibrant yellow hues. Gorgeous, fragrant and attractive fruit aromas of lemon blossoms, white peach and nectarine, layered with cashew vanillin oak. Touch of barrel ferment character and butteryness from malolactic add interest. The palate is zesty, complex and long with loads of flavour. Great fruit intensity, a creamy soft mouthfeel, integrated oak and a fine tight acid structure all contribute to a superb wine.

Jamiesons Run Chardonnay

Since the early 1950s, Jamiesons Run have been at the forefront of viticulture, sourcing the best fruit from the finest Limestone Coast vineyards. Chardonnay is monitored throughout the season, earmarked by the winemaking team, parcels are selected on the basis of luscious stonefruit characters, physiological ripeness and refreshing redolence. The balanced new age style of Chardonnay, showing tight citrus fruit character and cleansing acidity, achieving length of flavour and clean finish. Jamiesons Run is named after the original property where Mildara Wines was established by the Chaffey brothers in 1888. Various fermentation techniques are used on individual parcels of Chardonnay to build complexity into the finished wine. Components are barrel fermented in a selection of French and American oak casks under temperature controlled conditions. Some parcels are tank fermented, others are vinified on solids, a portion underwent malolactic to soften the wine. Many of the barrel fermented parcels are aged under oak, treated to extended lees contact for added complexity. Oak maturation contributes to the bouquet and palate but the fruit remains in balance and up front.
 
Pale straw, lime green hues. An attractive and inviting nose of lifted grapefruit, lemons and white peach over subtle nutty oak. On the tongue are rich varietal flavours with a creamy mouthful, giving great length and structure. Fresh and zesty palate with crisp flavours of citrus and red apple, infused by subtle, integrated oak.

The McGuigan's love of wine began with Owen McGuigan, born in the Hunter Valley 1869. Working in the vineyards became the life's blood and passion for all of Owen McGuigan's family. From those early pioneering days, successive generations have been at the forefront of the Australian wine industry, shaping some of the nation's great brands and most memorable vintages. McGuigan invite you to savour the inimitable experience which is Hunter Valley Chardonnay. Grapes were harvested from estate owned and operated vineyards and treated to a gentle air bag press. Juices were partially clarified before fermentation in French oak barriques wich infuse a lovely buttery oak influence to the final wine.
 
Pale gold colour. A delightful, fruit driven wine exhibiting the classic Chardonnay characters of tropical fruit. overtones of citrus and the slightest influence of oak. Bin 7000 exhibits the rich flavours of tropical fruit and citrus, a medium bodied wine with a creamy mouthfeel, a fresh crisp finish and exemplary persistence. After a long and distinguished career, which began under the tutelage of the legendary Max Schubert, Mike settled on a site at Lobethal in Adelaide Hills to grow grapes during a term of semi retirement. He chose his ground well, he lives comfortably amongst the vines and is delighted every year with harvests of the finest fruit. The ideal growing seasons and measured rainfalls of Adelaide Hills make complex yet elegant Chardonnay wines. The twenty four acres, single vineyard Kenton Valley property was selected by Mike Press on the basis of its cool microclime, its optimal altitudes of 500 metres above sea level and level of precipitation that's similar to many of the great winegrowing regions in the old world. Vines are all closely managed, a priority is placed on quality over quantity. Chardonnay is hand harvested throughout the cool of early morning to retain the pristine fruit characters. Grapes are treated to a cool vinification and bottled unoaked, to capture and preserve the immediacy and vitality of Adelaide Hills Chardonnay.
 
Light pale straw hue. A vibrant nose of grapefruit and melons, apples and nectarine, a discernible, highly regional Adelaide Hills bouquet. Crisp and refreshing palate brimming with layers of fruit, grassy notes, minerality and complexity provide interest. A length of stonefruit flavours are balanced by aromatic grapefruit characters before a clean acid finish.

After much time spent travelling throughout the premiere viticole de France, Mike and Mrs Press fell in love with the Rosé of Provence, resolving to create a single vineyard effort from their very own property in Adelaide Hills. This is no cloying pink drink but a serious Adelaide Hills wine, fashioned from the timeless and enduring cépage of La Bourgogne. A mesmerising Rosé with the palate weight and depth of refined Pinot Noir, paradoxically offering the crispness and drying crystalline texture of the most elegant Chardonnay.

Brilliant rose red hues. Defined nose of red fruit, cherries and sasafras spice, orchard fruits, plum, red delicious and nectarine. Moppity are in full embrace of the philosophy that great wines are made in the vineyard. There's also nothing generic about Moppity's Lock & Key efforts, they reflect their unique geographic origins, the ultimate expression of soil and microclime. Every effort is made in the vineyard to achieve quality fruit. Minimal irrigation, bunch thinning and careful pruning ensure low yields of concentrated grapes, providing wines of compelling regional and varietal distinction. Parcels of Tumbarumba Chardonnay are isolated on the basis of pure varietal expression and intensity of flavour. Exclusively free run juices are treated to lees battonage and partially barrel fermented in a selection of fine French oak barriques.
 
Brilliant, clean, pale yellow colour. Bright and lifted with citrus, fig and nutty complexity. Best described as a new world Chablis, the palate is long and lean with citrus, white peach and excellent minerality before a spicy, nutty finish. Although partially fermented in French hogsheads, the oak plays a subtle background role, allowing the fruit to do the talking.
