Vines were originally established in 1973 to black cracking clays over a Jurassiac base. Veraison is normally around February and picking in mid April. The north facing vineyard and extended sunshine hours ensure that the fruit is fully ripe at vintage. A rich cepage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot are treated to traditional old wold winemaking, open vat vinification, regular racking, hand plunging and assemblage between the first and second ferments.
