Established 1846 near the Islay port of Askaig, Caol Ila Distillery overlooks the scenic straits between the Isles of Islay and Jura. The site was chosen for its proximity to the waters of Loch Nam Ban, which are drawn through a course of limestone and peat. One of the lighter and more elegant Islay Malts, Caol Ila features ocean wind characters and refined peaty notes in support of dainty florals and fragrant spice.

Silky smooth Cardhu comes from a long established distillery that began life as a farm in 1811. Cardhu was one of Speyside's first legal distilleries, it's Malt has been prized as one of the finest and most enduring for almost two centuries. An important component of Johnnie Walker, featuring layer upon layer of luscious flavour, smoky peat, sweet honey and nuts, all smoothly balanced by a delicious, drying freshness. Bottled in it's own elegant decanter, ideally served from a balloon glass, everything about Cardhu speaks of quality and unrivalled enjoyment.

Helen Cumming made illicit Malt until 1824 when she finally acquired a license. Helen continued to make Whisky and oversee the growing Cardhu enterprise until her passing in 1874. Elizabeth was Helen's daughter in law, she became known as Queen of the Whisky Trade after rebuilding the distillery and increasing capacity, making Cardhu one of the leaders in Malt Whisky production. It was so highly regarded that in 1893 it became the first Malt distillery to be purchased by John Walker & Sons, who to this day consider it to be the spiritual home of Johnnie Walker.

Armagnac is made in the southern province of Gascony. There are three appellations, Bas Armagnac, Haut Armagnac and Tenareze. Armagnac is the finest of all the French distillates and is mentioned in records dating back to the 15th century. The Chabot family can trace the origins of their production to the village of Labastide D'Armagnac. Winemakers and suppliers of wine grapes, they established their own brand in 1828. Chabot remains family owned and operated, one of the most significant exporters of exceptionally fine Eaux de Vie in France.

Chabot distill their Eaux de Vie in a column still and mature their Armagnac in black oak. Over the years the spirit mellows, extracting colour and flavor from the cask. The spirit evaporates over time as the angels take their share, concentrating the fruit and developing complexity. The Chabot family traditionally employed geese as guardians of the premises where the oldest Armagnac Brandies are kept, reposing under the deep, dark ageing cellars. Better than dogs and almost carefree, they serve to prevent any attempt by strangers to penetrate the Chais.

The Chabot family established their repute in the wines and spirits trade circa 1828. Based in the village of Labastide d'Armagnac, Chabot came to the attention of Cognac man Michel Camus, who was instrumental in making Chabot into Armagnac's biggest export. Armagnac is distilled in much lesser quantities and by much smaller producers than neighbouring Cognac, achieving a finer, more complex, oak influenced spirit.
