Jerez
Tio Pepe is the world's leading Fino, a very pale and dry style of wine made in the southwest of Spain. Produced since 1844 by the Gonzalez family in Jerez, Tio Pepe has a distinctive aroma and a unique taste. Made from the Palomino grape it is aged for 5 years under a covering of fresh, naturally occurring yeast, giving Tío Pepe its distinctive, bready, lightly nutty dry palate. It's outstanding quality has won it multiple Gold Medals and Awards like the International Wine Challenge, where Tio Pepe claimed first Fino ever to achieve gold status twice in the history of the Challenge.

In 1835 Manuel María González, founded the González Byass bodegas in Jerez, Spain. Ambitious Manuel was helped by his uncle José Angel de la Peña known as Tío Pepe. Together they created a wonderful, unique and delicate Fino. As a tribute to his uncle, Manuel named it Tío Pepe, or 'Uncle Joe'. Tío Pepe is now the best selling Fino sherry in the world, and has claimed multiple gold medals at the International Wine and Spirit Competition. The most prestigious Spanish wine magazine Sabaritas, named the producers of Tio Pepe, Gonzalez Byass, the ‘Bodega of the Century'. Alcohol 15%

A very rich pale greenish gold which shows a sunny lustre and viscosity. Nose is dry in sugars but rich with a fruity complexity, very old world in character and sweet with of hazelnut and oak leaf. A palate that is masterfully balanced as to fruitness and dryness, offering very pleasant flavours that make the Tio Pepe the correct choice for any occassion or as an accompaniement to any food. Drink it just as you would a dry white wine on its own, with good company, as an aperitif, or with a meal.
