Crafted from a single parcel of Durif at Block 2609 on Delves Farm, yields are low, the tiny berries are intense with flavour and wrapped in ripe juicy tannins. Grapes are de stemmed and inoculated, plunged thrice daily over a week of ferments, pressed and settled into seasoned French oak barrels for fifteen months maturation. A mouthfilling wine of black cherry and blood plum characters, dark chocolates and spice, full bodied and seductive, its structured Durif tannins in support of a mouth filling, savoury fruit driven palate, defined by its linearity, persistence and drive.

Hanwood Estate 1913 Series Touriga

From a parcel of old Touriga Nacional vines on Block 13 of Farm 130. Grapes are carefully de stemmed for three days of cold soak, vinified through the action of natural yeasts and hand plunged thrice daily over a week of ferments, pressed and settled into seasoned French oak for fifteen months maturation. A juicy style characterised by red cherry and violet perfumes, juicy red berry characters within a light, fragrant structure dominated by its freshness and roundness of palate, a supple red wine showing great purity of fruit over a smooth length of fine savoury tannins.

Hanwood Estate 1913 Series Vermentino

Harvested throughout the chill of night and early morning, Vermentino is picked later in the growing season to allow grapes to ripen fully and achieve optimal flavour profile. The gently crushed first run juices are cold settled to oak barrel for fermentation to completely dry, followe by eight months maturation on sedimentery yeast lees. Floral and lemon myrtle nose with subtle notes of spice and garden herbs. A soft, creamy, medium bodied style of fresh citrus and tropical fruits characters, delicately spiced, a great balance to the long and refreshing finish.

Since inaugural release, 1877 has accumulated a breathtaking list of wine show trophy wins and countless gold medals. McWilliams 1877 represents a no expenses spared approach by one of the nation's most accomplished and enduring winemakers. Grapes are all picked by hand throughout the cool of early morning. Small parcels of the best and boldest Shiraz are crushed and cold soaked in open top fermenters for three days, a third are included as whole bunches. Batches gently warm before inoculation to choice yeasts, hand plunged on skins over the course of a fortnight. Upon completion, batches are gently pressed and racked to a high proportion of new French oak puncheons and hogsheads for ten months maturation on fine lees. Components are assembled in January and treated to a light fining prior to bottling.


Vibrant red purple hues. Bright fruits of dark cherry, pepper and charcuturie, coupled with lifted florals and fresh toasty nutmeg oak. Medium bodied, brightly lit acidity and fine slatey tannins, perfumed fruits and meatiness continue to evolve. An immense, powerful palate in complete balance and harmony, judicious oak matches the boldness of fruit, before a long plush finish.

It has taken many years of devoted viticulture and dedication to the land before arriving at 842 Chardonnay. This prolific award winner is the flagship white from Tumbarumba's highest plantings, crafted from fruit grown at an altitude of 842 metres. The driving inspiration for the team is to create a truly cool climate, elegant style of Chardonnay which offers engaging complexity while remaining true to the expression of Tumbarumba's lofty terroir.

The most precious blocks of estate grown Chardonnay, planted to elevated east facing vineyards are hand picked and whole bunch pressed. Parcels are settled on full grape solids and inoculated to a combination of wild indigenous and winery yeast. Components are treated to an individual vinification in a high proportion of new French oak barriques. A course of lees stirring batonnage builds luxurious texture, palate richness and length. A total of nine months in barrel without any malolactic preserves and retains the wonderfully crisp, slatey acidity of Tumbarumba Chardonnay. Upon completion, the best barrels are treated to a strict cull to arrive at the final assemblage.

Straw yellow hues. Intense and complex aromas of golden peach, ripe figs and melon honeydew, all supported by toasty cashew nut and biscuit notes. A powerful wine with great fruit intensity matched by creamy rich textures and perfect acidity. Ripe stone fruit flavours, a pure line of grapefruit acidity that drives the wine to fantastic depth and length, an incredibly long, fresh and vibrant finish.

Peter Robertson was a Lancaster gunner during World War II. Over the course of thirty missions, he was introduced to wine by his pilot, John Seppelt of Great Western. Robertson turned to farming after the war and planted the Hilltops first vines in 1969. Robertson's Barwang property has since produced some of the most memorable vintages. Parcels from two elite blocks are vinified into a richly concentrated, classically structured Cabernet Sauvignon, showing great length of black fruit flavours, olives, currants and eucalypt, over a structure of elegant oak and sound tannins, a wine of opulence and grace.

McWilliams Hanwood Classic Muscat

A patiently matured, multi vineyard Muscat, vinified from Red Frontignac grapes and blended to an average age of five years. The fruit, picked extremely ripe to maintain the sweetness of the style, is sourced entirely from McWilliam's vineyards in the Riverina wine region of New South Wales. The warm and dry conditions are ideal for Fortifieds, enabling grapes to ripen superbly and to achieve great richness of flavour. Fermentation is arrested at the desired sweetness by the gradual addition of a high quality neutral Spirit, also made at the Hanwood wineworks.

Frontignac grapes are harvested at a minimum 14Â° baume of sugar ripeness, crushed into open fermenters and partially fermented on skins for a week and more to extract maximum colour and flavour. This gradual fortification of around two per cent alcohol per addition helps control fermentation and ensures seamless wine and fortification integration. To control the development of aged rancio characters and to keep the flavours fresh and balanced, batches are matured in larger oak barrels than those used for tawny ports, well seasoned oak, at least ten years of age. This allows the wine to slowly develop complexity without obvious oak flavours and characters. The final blend is cold stabilised and filtered prior to bottling.

Dark tobacco hues. Floral rose petal, caramel and allsorts, sticky date and complex fruit notes. Smooth and rich palate, developed Frontignac fruit notes, concentrated raisins, a considerable lusciousness from, mellow sweetness and intensity. A rich and luscious raisined palate with a silky smooth finish, Hanwood appeals to all wine enthusiasts because of its fresh fruit flavours. An astonishingly suitable accompaniement to many cuisines.

McWilliams Hanwood Classic Tawny

McWilliam's can trump the market when it comes to offering quality Ports which are complex and mature, a deeply satisfying experience in Fine Old Tawny. Crafted from parcels of Mataro, Grenache and Shiraz, blended to an average age of five years. Harvest is generally later in the season, off choice vineyards in sunny Riverina, the added term on vine serving to fully ripen grapes and encourage luscious fruit sweetness. A lighter, fresher style of Tawny than McWilliam's Hanwood Ten Year Old, offering exquisite richness and complexity without overt oak.

Crafted by the most dedicated and accomplished fortified wine specialists. Fruit is harvested at above 14 baume, crushed into open fermenters, partially fermented on skins for between seven and ten days to extract maximum colour and flavour. Ferments are arrested at the desired sweetness by the gradual addition of a high quality neutral spirit, which is also distilled at McWilliam wineworks. This gradual fortification of around two per cent alcohol helps control the vinification, achieving a seamless fortification. Following the wine's clarification and filtration, batches are matured in small, old oak barrels for an average of five years. The final blend is then cold stabilised and filtered prior to bottling.

Brick red colour with amber hues. Rich rancio nose, walnuts and sweet tobacco, a concentration of fruit fragrances, cocoa and treacle notes. A lively fruit acidity wraps itself around the fine fruit richness, the palate is sweet to start, evolving into a beautifully drying, clean and persistent spirit finish. A superb mellowness throughout, derived from ageing in a selection of well seasoned, fine oak barrels.

Crafted in the old world way, according to the traditional flor solera system. Wines are secondarily fermented under unique Flor caps, yeasts which grow on top of the Apera, releasing aldehydes and infusing the Sherry with lifted, nutty characters. Clean and mellow, gracefully dry and pleasingly rancio, exquisite with a warm alcohol length of aromatic malt flavours and integrated aged oak. Superb as a chilled aperitif, the Amontillado Apera style is served on classical menus alongside aspic, game birds and the finest double consomme.

Parcels of Muscadelle are harvested at naturally high levels of sugar, grapes are crushed, destemmed and cooled to 10C on the way to open fermentation vessels. Batches are pumped over twice daily during two days of cold soak. Yeasts are added for a slow vinification, followed by draining and press after a single Baume drop in sugar level. Juices are fortified with neutral grape Spirit to arrest the ferments, settled and racked off solids. Batches are heat and cold stabilised, coarse earth filtered and transferred to a collection of well seasoned oak barrels for up to thirty years maturation. Upon completion, the best barrels are determined and marked for inclusion into the final Show Reserve Muscat. Alcohol 18.5%


Rich deep brown tawny, khaki hues. Fresh lifted Muscat fruit aromas, festive raisin cake, baking spice and citrus peel over intense rancio oak notes. Richly intense, yet gently luscious and velvet smooth, pronounced Muscat flavours, a concentration of raisin and fruit mince tart characters. A big mouth coating finish, lingering immeasurably on a length of spiced, licorice toffee richness.

Since 1877 when Samuel McWilliam planted his first vines at Corowa in New South Wales, successive generations of the McWilliam family have been pioneering the art of fine winemaking in Australia. Always innovative, McWilliam's has ensured its position at the forefront of Australian winemaking by introducing new production techniques and some of the world's most advanced technology in the company's wineries and vineyards.

McWilliam’s Mount Pleasant Estate – nestled in the slopes of the Brokenback Range in NSW’s lower Hunter Valley – was established in 1921 by legendary winemaker, the late Maurice O’Shea. Today, the Hunter Valley is widely regarded as the home of semillon, and McWilliam’s as the producer of Australia’s best wines from the variety. O’Shea’s ground breaking work has been kept alive by revered winemakers Brian Walsh (1956-1978) and Phillip Ryan (1978-current). The fact that there have been just three Chief Winemakers at Mount Pleasant since 1921 has ensured consistency of wine style and quality.


McWilliam’s Barwang Vineyard is located in the emerging, cool-climate Hilltops region, located on the southwest slopes of the Great Dividing Range, near Young in New South Wales. This high-altitude (560m) vineyard enjoys a dry summer and autumn, with cool nights and mild days resulting in a long ripening period. Heavy snowfall and frost in winter are quite common; and whilst substantial rainfall occurs in the growing season, most falls in spring. The region’s soil is deep red, decomposed granite clays impregnated with basalt. Showered with trophies and medals and praise from the media, McWilliam’s Barwang range has already carved an impressive reputation. The Laira Vineyard was established in 1893 in Coonawarra’s famous terra rossa heartland It is today widely regarded as one of the region’s best plantings of Shiraz. With Shiraz the only wine grape planted in Coonawarra from 1900 to 1950, the variety has played an important role in establishing Coonawarra’s international reputation as Australia’s pre-eminent red wine region. McWilliam’s Wines is today one of the largest landholders in Coonawarra, with almost 300 hectares of mainly cabernet sauvignon and shiraz vines. In recent years, the company has extended the Estate to include the 165 hectare Station Block and 100 hectare Kirkgate vineyards The Yarra Valley – located just 50kms from Melbourne – is one of Australia’s premier cool-climate wine growing regions. It experiences consistently cool to mild weather, which allows for the slow, even ripening of fruit and produces long-lived wines of the highest quality. Lillydale's two vineyards, Morning Light and Sunnyside, were among the first to re-establish in the Yarra Valley in 1976. McWilliam’s award-winning Lillydale Estate range – which is overseen by McWilliam’s Chief Winemaker, Jim Brayne - exhibits classic cool-climate characters.	"Plant a six-inch nail in this soil, water it and in a year you will have a crowbar." So said John James McWilliam when he arrived in Hanwood in 1913. The development of the Riverina region as a major wine producing area was primarily due to the foresight of the McWilliam family. The Riverina, and Hanwood in particular, was an area John James McWilliam – the son of McWilliam’s founder, Samuel McWilliam – had identified earlier as having the potential to service the growing domestic and export wine markets. McWilliam’s Hanwood winery is distinguished by its barrel-shaped cellar door tasting room, and the large array of old bottles and winery memorabilia displayed in a 17 metre-long museum in the shape of a bottle.
