Castillo de Enguera Reserva 2006
Valencia
A rich cepage of Merlot, Monastrelli and Syrah by Perez Pardo, a devoted family of winemakers from eastern Spain's Caroig Massif, a rugged, mountainous area with deep ravines and broad valleys. Bodegas Enguera was established with a view to crafting exclusively estate grown wines. The vineyards were planted in the right way and viticulture remains world's best practice. Enguera Reserva exhibits perfect integration of ripe fruit with a warm glow of acid and spice, sweet grape tannins combine with mild French oak to achieve a wine of elegance and length.

Bodegas Enguera are located in the southwest of Valencia along the River Clariano, which comes under the Valencia Designation of Origin. The Bodega's vineyards within the municipality of Enguera are sprawled over a hundred hectares, the most important of which are Antolin, Banona, Tonuna and Venta Corrales. Sustainable viticulture is a priority, indigenous grasses are encouraged between the rows of vine and neither pest nor herbicides are used. Maintaining an environment for natural predators contributes great benefits to the soil. The finished wine is matured in a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak barrels before a spell of bottle ageing under the Bodega cellars. Alcohol 13.5%

Cherry coloured with a deep dark core. Intense bouquet, notes of fully ripened fruit characters are balanced by toastyness. Black fruit flavours on the palate are supported by creamy French oak and supple, ripe tannins. A mouth filling, full flavoured wine exhibiting refinement, balance and complexity.
