Bodega Catena have long believed that every wine begins in the vineyard, pioneering a research project into the microclimates of Mendoza. Through the planting of select clones on various blocks, Bodega Catena were able to identify the ideal locations. Sites which are just a few kilometers apart can have vast differences in altitude and possess markedly different microclimates. The same varietal and even the same clone, can exhibit distinct aromatic and flavour profiles. All vines are all managed by hand and are trained to produce extremely low yields. This wines are made in very limited quantities, fruit is micro fermented in new French oak barriques and treated to an extended ageing in new French oak.

A dark violet color with deep blue/ black tones. The nose offers ripe, concentrated dark fruit aromas with delicate floral notes and traces of vanilla and mocha. The mouthfeel is rich and lush, with concentrated black cherry and red currant fruit flavours layered with sweet spices, tobacco and a touch of leather. The finish presents soft, supple tannins with bright, crisp acidity and a flinty minerality which gives the wine exceptional length.
