Andrew Garrett reconciles the firmness of Cabernet with the softness of Merlot, whilst retaining the natural expressions of both varietals. Grapes are selected from vineyards producing fruit with generous flavours and consistently high quality. The plum and cherry of the Merlot greets the fullness of the Cabernet, forming a tender, forward drinking red wine. Maturation in French and American oak completes and balances the noble blend.

Today's Andrew Garrett fulfills the founder's faith in the future of Australian wine. Parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are sourced from premium vineyards, selected by the winemaking team on the basis of consistency and good varietal expression. Grapes are crushed, inoculated to select strains of yeast, then left to jam on skins for a few days over the course of fermentation. The juices are then pressed and settled, followed by racking and maturation in a combination of new and prior use French and American oaks for twelve months. The separate components are then assessed for inclusion, assembled and stabilised before bottling. Approx 13.5%

Deep red colour. A bouquet that's evocative of plum, chocolate and cedary oak. On the palate the wine shows mouth-filling fruit, softness as well as strength and good complexity. Ripe blackcurrant and chocolate notes resound, velvety mouthfeel, rich berry characters, olive and mint are supported by fine powdery tannins. An easy to appreciate, forward drinking Cabernet Merlot, enjoy Andrew Garrett with hot jazz and feisty creole recipes.

Andrew Garrett is committed to extensive, long term viticultural development and environmentally sustainable winemaking in Australia. The fruitgrowers and winemakers manage the vineyards with care and devotion. An ensemble of physiologically ripe parcels of fruit were sourced from premium vineyards to compose this stylish wine. Grapes are selected from good vineyards earmarked for their propensity to yield fruit of generous flavour profiles and consistent quality. Fruit is crushed and the skins are removed to amplify the bright varietal characters. After inoculation to select yeasts and a long, cool fermentation the wine is assembled and lightly filtered before bottling. Approx 13.5%

Pale gold in colour. A bouquet of ripe peaches before a palate showing rich fruit characters tempered by crisp, fresh acidity and just a hint of oak. Notes of ripe peach and melon, tropical fruits and citrus harmonise on the deep, elegant palate. The balance between acid and fruit, light oak and varietal fruit, is impeccable, the milky oak enhances but does not dominate. Nose exhibits highlights of citrus and sweet stonefruit, tangy pineapple characters combined with a hint of nutteyness, and supple spicey overtones. In it's distinctively fashionable styling, Andrew Garrett Shiraz is seen around bistro and dinner tables, at home and throughout the world. The best Shiraz fruit is sourced and sorted according to quality. After pressing, the juices are innoculated with yeasts and left to jam on the skins for a few days to infuse. Following fermentation, the wine is treated to maturation and racking under a combination of oaks for twelve months. Approx 13.5%

Good red colour. A soft, easy drinking style of wine, with inviting ripe berry fruit aromas, notes of pepper and allspice with a judicious measure of tender oak. Fully aromatic and friendly, plums and blueberries, sweet warm festive cakes, finely integrated tannins supporting the layers of silky juicy berries. Established 1983 in the McLaren Vale, the Andrew Garrett label has long been regarded as an honest and unpretentious marque that delivers excellent value wines, approachable and reliable from year to year. Parcels of fruit from good vineyards, showing exemplary varietal defintion and the perfect acid tannin balance, which can best define the sparkling Shiraz style, are harvested at full physiological ripeness. Following the crush and inoculation, components are vinified in a combination of temperature controlled fermenters. The base wines are racked and aged before a regimen of trials to determine the assemblage. A secondary fermentation is induced in bottle to infuse the wine with it's characteristic mousse.


Deep purple red with a persistent creamy mousse. Bouquets of violet, cherry and spiced, peppery plum. A fine textural mouthfeel, soft and elegant, supported by solid tannins, controlled background oak and refreshing acidity. A long, lingering finish on a lip smacking note of dark berry fruits, licorice and plum. Enjoy Andrew Garrett with turkey or ham, a sauced chocolate pudding or cheese.

Andrew Garrett has always produced full-flavoured wines from fruit sourced mainly around the McLaren Vale and nearby Padthaway regions. Andrew Garrett Wines makes reds, whites and sparkling wines, including Australia's most popular Sparkling Burgundy, which is made from premium McLaren Vale Shiraz. The team at Andrew Garrett share many years collective experience in fashioning popular and memorable vintage releases, at some of the better winemaking estates around Australia.

Andrew Garrett Wines, established by winemaking entrepreneur Andrew Garrett, is now operated by the greater Cockatoo Ridge group of wineries. Andrew Garrett began his career as a cellar hand in the mid 1970s. As a 26-year-old he launched his own wine label in 1984, and within six years his products and marketing flair had built a business with $23 million of assets, and turning over $12 million a year.

His determination was displayed after a fire in 1988 destroyed his Magill Cellars, and a hailstorm caused nearly $2 million damage to his Yarra Valley vineyards. Restructuring to rebuild the winery's operations, he eventually lost control of his label, and today Andrew Garrett wines are owned and operated by the greater Fosters group.

Today, fruit for the entire Andrew Garrett range, is sourced from selected vineyards, earmarked for their capacity to grow good fruit, crushed and processed back at the wineworks, and fashioned into some of the country's most popular wines. The umbrella company, International Vintners Australia, is committed to extensive, long-term viticulture development and winemaking operations within Australia.
