Vavasour pioneered viticulture in the Awatere Valley, under the imposing presence of Tapuae-O-Uenuku. Vavasour’s vineyard is noteworthy for its wide diurnal temperature swings, it's the combination of soils and clime which shape the inimitable character of Vavasour wine. The refined elegance of their Pinot Gris shows why many others have followed the lead. Sweetly spiced on the nose and palate, yet pleasingly dry, soft savoury aromas are reflected by intensely concentrated flavours on the palate.

$2399each $287DOZEN EACH DOZEN Pinot Gris is harvested off Vavasour's favourite blocks on the Home vineyard throughout the cool of autumn mornings. To ensure concentration and weight on the palate, yields are kept low. After whole bunch pressing, the juices are split and a component is vinified in seasoned old French oak barriques employing wild yeasts from the vineyard, the major portion of fruit is treated to vinification in temperature controlled fermenters. Five months of lees stirring adds richness and texture without sacrificing delicate aromatics. The wine is assembled to display a lovely mix of flavours within a rich palate exhibiting the essential Marlborough zing, followed by a brief spell of maturation.

Pale gold colour. Vavasour shows lifted tropical fruit, melons and citrus, subtle pear and jasmine notes. Made to a dry style, the richly structured palate exhibits luscious layers of fruit, with hints of pear and ginger, followed by a long mineral finish that's so distinctive of Awatere Valley. Pleasingly crisp and dry, very ready to drink now. Introduce Vavasour to a crisply roasted duck and you have a match made in heaven.

A fully accessible, classically structured Tuscan, fashioned to contemporary tastes, with a history that dates back to 1931, the long tradition of Villa Antinori's Trebbiano dominant whites have evolved throughout the course of history. Villa Antinori is vinified around a backbone of Trebbiano, to which components of Malvasia, Pinot Grigio and Bianco are included for elegance and style. A delicious white Chianti to appreciate while young, best enjoyed, slightly chilled alongside your favourite cuisine.

$2699each $323DOZEN EACH DOZEN Eighty years of crafting nothing but the finest wine, vinified from harvests of the best fruit, to arrive at a place of such prominence and prestige, has been a long journey. Vines are managed by growers who have been yielding the finest harvests for many generations, endeavouring with every vintage to deliver the quality that's so essential for the construct of approachable Tuscan white wines. Grapes are destemmed and gently crushed. The musts are cooled to 10C encouraging a natural clarification. Batches are transferred to fermenters for vinification at 18C. Upon completion the parcels are held at 10C to retain freshness and vibrant aromatic characters before assembling into the finished wine and bottling.

Straw yellow with green highlights. Intense aromas of orange blossoms and banana, hints of candied fruit and rose. A well balanced palate, smooth and pleasant, full bodied and refreshing with bright fruit flavours before a long aromatic finish. Match Bianco Toscana with calamri or snap fried sardines, Al fresco dishes and all northern regional Italian faire.
