The superlative Mount Pleasant vineyard was established in 1921 by the legendary winemaker Maurice O'Shea who recognised the special characteristics and longevity of Hunter Valley table wines. The grapes are picked early in the morning to retain fruit freshness and quality. Bunches are gently destemmed and lightly crushed, the must is chilled and juices drained off, handled in a manner to eliminate oxidation. Juices are cold fermented over the course of a fortnight before being treated to a minimal lees contact. Assembled and filtered, stabilised and promptly bottled, interference with the natural vinification process is kept to a minimum, contributing to the retention of fresh fruit characters.

Pale straw hue. Elizabeth exhibits qualities of the finest Semillon when young, aromas of citrus are met by hints of vanilla and freshly cut hay. A palate of citrus, fresh lemon and limes, the back palate reveals the beginnings of distinctive Hunter Semillon characters, toastyness and nut, caramel and lanolin. The texture is light, bright and pure with a fresh line of acidity along the palate, leading to a fresh, dry and seamless finish.

An accessible Hunter Valley classic, Mount Pleasant has established itself as an Australian benchmark. Mount Pleasant's continued efforts to hold back bottles of Elizabeth Semillon until at the peak of development is repeatedly vindicated by the wine's incredible run of successes at major wine shows. Elizabeth has claimed dozens of trophies and countless medals throughout her long and illustrious history. All grapes are hand picked, de-stemmed and crushed, the musts are chilled and juices drained. After forty eight hours settling, the clear juices are racked off, warmed and inoculated. A long, cool vinification is employed to retain the character of vintage, bottled three weeks after completion.

Lovely deep straw hue. Effusive and intense, the complex aroma carries all the attributes of Hunter Semillon, lemon with lime, passionfruit, sherbet and hints of cut straw. Elizabeth has grown rich and mature Semillon characters after several years of bottle age. Fine, delicate and persistent exhibiting ripe acidity and a juicy, fleshy middle palate. Quintessential Semillon attributes of honeysuckle and lemon curd tantalize the taste buds.
Mount Pleasant Lovedale Semillon
Hunter Valley

Outstanding Langtons Classification. The locals around the Lovedale property say that the sandy soils are so poor, that even the rabbits have to bring a tucker box just to survive! The lean and mean terroir is elemental to the long lived, fine boned style. Lovedale has claimed no fewer than 150 gold medals and 70 trophies throughout its illustrious history. An enduring and timeless effort of elegance and grace, Lovedale stands as the quintessential expression of Hunter Valley Semillon, one of Australia's great contributions to the international atlas of wine.

Semillon for this amazing wine is sourced entirely from the Lovedale Vineyard, originally planted by legendary winemaker Maurice O'Shea in 1946. Fruit is harvested relatively early for a wine with relatively low alcohol and naturally high acidities. All grapes are hand picked and sent to the Mt Pleasant wineworks where they are destemmed and crushed, the musts are chilled and the juices are drained. After forty eight hours settling, the clear juices are racked off, warmed and inoculated with neutral yeast. Ferments are slow and kept at cool temperatures to retain flavour. Lovedale is bottled just three weeks after vinification and held back for several years of bottle ageing under the Mt Pleasant cellars. Alcohol 10.0%

Deep straw hues. Vibrant bouquet, complex and effusive with layers of citrus fruit, lemon curd, honey and hints of toast, notes of crushed quartz and wild herb. Long and complex palate exhibiting youthful vibrancy and aged complexity. Primary citrus fruits intertwine with mineral acidity and developing toasty aged influences. Flavour weight then increases across the length and breadth of the delicate, complex and finely structured palate.

Hunter Valley is one of the world's great white wine growing districts. Pepper Tree's vineyard is in the Mount View area of Lower Hunter, within the sheltered foothills of Brokenback Range. Alluvial loams along the vineyard's creek flats are ideal for Semillon. Pepper Tree's vineyard sits in a small subvalley protected on three sides and grows the most intense Sauvignon Blanc. The higher elevations at Orange make a major contribution to Australia's most exciting new viticultural precinct, favoured for its sensational long growing season and extended cool ripening. Fruit is all hand picked and gently pressed to preserve delicate fruit aromas, effecting an elegance and finesse on the palate. Alcohol 13.0%

Peter Lehmann Botrytis Semillon 375ml
Barossa Valley
Available in cartons of six
Peter Lehmann's story with Noble Semilon goes back many years, when Andrew Wigan had the good fortune of experiencing vintage within the vineyards at Chateau d'Yquem, home to the greatest sweet white wine in the world. What he had assumed to be spoilage, was in fact Botrytis Cinerea. Traditionally, Botrytis affected wines are the most complex and longest lived of all. The Barossa Valley is an ideal region for late harvest, given the quality of local Semillon and the warm conditions that continue well into vintage.

Walking through the vineyards of Chateau d'Yquem, Andrew Wigan could see fruit in the same condition as what he'd experienced back home. Armed with the confidence that Botrytis Cinerea in the Barossa was identical to Sauternes, Wigan returned fully determined to create Peter Lehmann's own expression of Botrytis Semillon. Made exclusively from grapes picked at the Peter Lehmann Semillon vineyard, along the banks of the River Para, when infection of the Semillon is perfect. The grapes are crushed and left on skins overnight before being pressed the next day. Juices are clarified and treated to a mix of fermenters or French oak hogsheads for six months before bottling.

Brightly polished gold hues. Classical aromas of lime marmalade, dried pear and a hint of apricot kernel. Stylish, more-ish and luscious, delicious with dried currant and apricot flavours, complemented by fully integrated French oak, pierced by superb natural acids. A wine of remarkable intensity and superb weight, multi dimensional fruit, everywhere on the middle palate, beckoning for another sip.

Peter Lehmann rightly espouses Barossa Semillon as a unique style, the estate is justly rewarded with a resource of the choicest vineyards. Lehmann has always had enormous faith in Barossa Semillon but it has been sorely challenged over the past thirty years. The commitment stands and some very old Semillon vines have been preserved. Released as a five year old, Margaret is a fruit driven, deliciously dry white which reflects Lehmann's passion. Grapes are picked early and vinified at lower temperatures for a fortnight, clarified and bottled immediately upon completion, unwooded and unoaked, followed by an extended cellaring.

Vibrant gold, tinges of green. Lively bouquet of lemon zest, lanolin and beeswax, lemongrass aromas and citrus acidity belie its age. Youthful and fresh, paradoxically shows remarkable complexity after five years in bottle, a zesty, tight mineral acidity, an effusive layered palate, pleasingly dry before an elongated, zesty finish. A superb accompaniment to scallops, fresh fishes and white meat roasts.
