Treated to a long cool ferment, a third of the wine is sent to seasoned French oak barrels for vinification and a spell of maturation on gross sediments, infusing textural richness and mouth watering complexity. Sweet, spicy pear flavours, baked cheesecake and shortcrust characters, complemented by the piquancy of nutmeg, cinnamon and pinenut. A wine of limited production and suitably high demand, fashioned from the distinguished vineyard of Dennis and Val Kraft at Tanunda, which consistently delivers an impeccable quality of fruit with balance and definition. Vines are fully mature and well into their fourth decade, they perform magnificently every vintage, yielding a big, exotic tropical fruit style of Sauvignon Blanc with firm structure. In some years, a component of Adelaide Hills fruit is included, to enhance the Barossa refinement with a dollop of cool climate steelyness and vegetal.

$2699each $323DOZEN EACH DOZEN Fruit is harvested throughout the cool of night, grapes from the distinguished Kraft vineyard always ripen fully to develop vibrant fruit character while maintaining fine and clean, natural acidity. Parcels are crushed and drained through a tank press, the free run juices are cold settled forty eight hours before racking off gross lees. Separate batches are transferred to fermenters, in some years a portion may be vinified under new French oak. Ferments are carried out at low temperatures to retain freshness. Upon completion, batches are held on yeast lees for several months to build texture, before assembling into a wine which expresses the outstanding character and refined balance of Kraft Vineyard.

Pale golden hue. Vibrant green melon, fresh tropical fruit and subtle passionfruit aromas, complimented by delicate floral. The palate is round with crisp fruit flavours, grapefruit, honeydew melons and varietally characteristic green herbaceous tones. The clean fruit flavours are enhanced by refreshing lemon citrus and crisp acidity leaving a lingering and satisfying finish. Fashioned to a vibrant drink now style, the perfect for accompaniement to spicy Asian and piquant seafood recipes.

Grant Burge is a fifth generation vigneron and one of Australia's most industry respected winemakers. He retains an intimate knowledge of Barossa vineyards and is well positioned to select the pick of Chardonnay from the choicest cool climate sites. A large portion is sourced from Burge's own Summers property in Eden Valley, a further component is picked off vines planted to higher altitudes in Adelaide Hills. Subtle oak treatments play a role, imparting depth and framing the fruit while supporting the fine palate structure.

Chardonnay grapes are chilled and whole bunch pressed before a combination of cultured and natural indigenous yeast ferments ensue in a mix of seasoned and French oak hogsheads with solids to assist the mouthfeel. Smaller components are treated to vinification in controlled fermenters and a course of malolactic. Components are matured for eight months with regular stirring of lees to infuse complexity and build creamy palate texture.

Bright golden hues. Delicate aromas of citrus, white peaches and spice. The palate exhibits incredible balance, fruit flavours are fully integrated with lime acidity and a hint of creaminess provided by lees stirring. The balance creates a wine with superb length and refinement. Food matches such as spiced quail, roasted pork loin with fennel or seafood gumbo allow Summers Vineyard to fully express itself.

A voluminous, golden oaked Chardonnay from a precious block of superior vines, treated to the luxury of a year's maturation in a rich proportion of new French barriques. A beautiful bouquet like an Adelaide Hills spring in full bloom, the peaches, melons and nectarine of early morning market garden, the fragrant saute of leeks in warm butter. Redolent of the succulence and chantilly from good French oak, its serious palate weight and volume of fruit, making a multi dimensional Chardonnay style to match robust white meats, Veau au vin blanc and crispy crackling pork.

Grown to the the Henschke Archer's Vineyard at Lenswood in Adelaide Hills, near the heart of the South Mount Lofty Ranges. A refreshing passionfruit, citrus and gooseberry nuanced wine with flinty mineral aromas following up, Coralinga is a highly regional expression of Sauvignon Blanc, delivering ample varietal complexity and true elegance.

The vineyard has a steep north to east facing slope, and the vines here grow vigorously, flowering generously and in general setting healthy crops. At 550 metres, Lenswood enjoys higher rainfall and humidity at the right time of year, cooler temperatures to retain high natural acidity and still enough sunshine to fully ripen grapes. Fermented in tank and bottled post vintage, unaged and unoaked to preserve the wine's superior fruit characters. Lenswood Coralinga captures the exotic aromatic qualities of Sauvignon Blanc grown to an exceptional Adelaide Hills site.

Pale yellow green hue. Sweet, delicate floral aromas of passionfruit, gooseberry and tropical fruits are punctuated by notes of fejoa and white currant. The palate is rich and minerally with intense flavours of citrus, gooseberry and tropical fruits, and just a hint of anise and caraway, the finish is clean, crisp and lingering.
