Pale straw hues. A beautifully balanced nose, bouquets of melon and subtle vanilla almond oak, hawthorn and hints of crisp green pear. A weighty, stonefruit filled palate combines the creamyness and textural richness of French oak with a cornucopia of orchard flavours, melons, grapefruits and granny smith, all resolving on a clean and lingering, nectarine peach finish.

Canberra may be the chilliest city on the mainland but it also yields vintages of remarkable, world class wines. Riesling vines love the chilly, crisp and cloudless Murrumbateman skies, stimulated to yield parcels of the most intensely flavoured, ripe and complex fruit. Grapes are all hand picked and whole bunch pressed, cold settled and racked off gross sediments for vinification and a term of repose on fine lees. Inscrutably clean, elegant and refined, a suggestion of tropicality, lychees and lime, supported by the luxury of mineral and chalky, winsome aplomb.

A compilation of parcels from Tumbarumba, Maragle and Courabyra Vineyards, whole bunch pressed into seasoned French oak barriques for a wild, indigenous yeast ferment, followed by a year of maturation. Lovely lifted citrus and stone fruits to the palate and bouquet, white flowers and barrel spice, intense with lovely acid balance.

The ripe core of fruit from a vineyard just north of Murrumbateman Village at 630 metres above sea level on an ancient de-composed granite belt, running along both sides of Barton Highway. A propitious site for realizing yields of Pinot Gris with intensely lifted fruit characters and judiciously juicy acidity. Her striking coral pink hues precede a mouthfilling style of smashed strawberries, poached pear and soft white peach.

Eden Road have assembled the best barrels Chardonnay from the distinguished Courabyra and Maragle vineyards, a mere 400 cases are made each vintage. Delicate handling, a repose on sedimentery yeast lees and judicious exposure to oak, have infused beautiful creamy mouthfeel, ripe varietal acidity and luxurious slate minerality. Hanwood Estate 1913 Series Vermentino

Harvested throughout the chill of night and early morning, Vermentino is picked later in the growing season to allow grapes to ripen fully and achieve optimal flavour profile. The gently crushed first run juices are cold settled to oak barrel for fermentation to completely dry, followe by eight months maturation on sedimentery yeast lees. Floral and lemon myrtle nose with subtle notes of spice and garden herbs. A soft, creamy, medium bodied style of fresh citrus and tropical fruits characters, delicately spiced, a great balance to the long and refreshing finish.

From the nation's most consequential viticultural precinct, a beautifully balanced wine of moderate acid and low pH, perfect sugar levels and loads of beautiful fresh flavours. Three separate clones from four vineyard blocks in the valley surrounding the winery add to the complexity in flavour and contribute palate structure. An exquisite Riesling bearing the articulate expression of Canberra fruit, its tangy lemon and lime characters will handsomely complement creamy pasta sauces, fragrant chicken recipes and the freshest seafood.

Helm is a boutique cool climate winemaker, one of the first ever commercial operations in the Canberra region. Winemaker Ken Helm AM received Order of Australia for his work with Riesling, contribution to the Australian wine industry, support of cool climate producers and service to the Canberra community. Helm placed the Canberra region firmly on the map for world class Riesling after the inaugural 1977 release won significant accolades. Grapes are vinified to a combination of traditional and modern techniques, a component of Helm Classic Dry is sourced from some of Canberra's oldest vines.
 
Greenish yellow colour. Striking floral bouquet reminiscent of apple blossom, clean and fresh, lifted floral notes. Richly flavoured with varietal citrus fruit characters, green apples and lime, exhibiting great delicacy, fine complexity and superb length. Balanced clean acid on the long fruit laden palate before a lingering aromatic finish.
