Adelaide Hills are a deeply spiritual part of Australian viticultural history. Originally associated with table reds and fortified wines, it is now renowned for the quality of briskly flavoured and appealingly stylish vintages of Sauvignon Blanc. Grapes are harvested throughout the cool of night and gently pressed to minimise skin contact, while retaining all the exciting aromaticness. Juices are cold settled and clarified for a cool temperature vinification through the action of cultured yeasts. Anaerobic handling at every step of the process and a minimalist approach captures and preserves all the exciting characters of Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc.

One of the nation's great winemaking estates, the original Jamiesons Run property was a remote outback sheep station owned by the Jamieson Brothers in the mid 1800s. Two of Australia's most significant historical identities laid the foundations for Jamiesons Run. First was prime minister Alfred Deakin with the assistance of irrigation experts William and George Chaffey, second was Coonawarra patriarch John Riddoch. Sauvignon Blanc from closely managed vineyards is harvested throughout thew cool of the night to capture all the bright varietal aromas and flavours. Fruit is crushed and pressed to tank, inoculated and treated to a cool fermentation, capturing the vital elements of terroir and clime.
 
A pale yellow in colour. Fresh, tropical passionfruit and citrus characters on the bouquet, a light mineral edge to the nose with pleasant hints of lemongrass and spice. The palate displays subtle grassy notes, citrus and grapefruits before a crisp, clean finish. Drink now to enjoy the fresh fruit characters, alongside barramundi, chicken caesar or prawns.

Meet the Cover Drive's girlfriend. Those who know cricket will be aware of the fielding position called Silly Mid On. Close to the batsman, requiring very good reflexes and always at risk of being struck by the ball off the bat. A delicious blend that includes Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon from the Clare Valley, along with Sauvignon Blanc from the Adelaide Hills. Semillon grapes are sourced from the Jim Barry's own vineyards, whilst the Adelaide Hills fruit was provided courtesy of cricket loving associates. With its beautiful rolling hills, ideal winter rainfall and Mediterranean climate, the Jim Barry sites retain a unique history of winemaking heritage. Adelaide Hills is the eldest wine region in South Australia, one of the few regions anywhere in the country to enjoy four distinct seasons and has a reputation as one of Australia's areas for Sauvignon Blanc. Silly Mid On is just as remarkable for it's masterful integration of components, as it is for the heightened aromatic profiles, smooth fresh palate, and clean refreshing finish.
 
Pale straw yellow in colour. It shows brashness and aromatic flavours of passionfruit, gooseberry and freshly mown grass with underlying nuances of herbs and spices. The palate is full of simplicity combined with dimension. It has a scaffold-like structure with a firm acid backbone, a melting pot of fruit flavours, guava, papaya, rockmelon, pineapple and lychee.

Jones Road have taken the trip from their digs at Mornington, to sow plantings of vine on the most propitous vistas in Yarra Valley. Grapes are hand picked off an exquisite single block of Sauvignon Blanc at Yarra Glen, sorted for quality and brought to the Sticks wineworks for vinification. A third of the wine is filled to French oak for completion of ferments and a term of repose on yeast lees. The judicious exposure to oak makes a muti dimensional Sauvignon Blanc of added palate richness, bright natural acidity keeps the finish, crisp and fresh.

Fruit from an array of Marlborough vineyards representing a broad cross section of soil types and microclimes, contribute a diverse range of aromas, flavours and textures to Lawson's Dry Hills. The time of picking is crucial to Sauvignon Blanc and the closer a winemaker scrutinizes his fruit, the more optimal will be the decision to harvest. Each site is harvested at optimal ripeness and some are picked in several passes. Rich oak ferments contribute subtle mealy characters and added palate weight.

Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from several different Marlborough vineyards within a wide geographical spread, the Waihopai Valley to Chaytors Road in the coastal lower Wairau Valley and over to Awatere Valley. Each vineyard is separately managed to achieve the finest quality of fruit possible. Yields are carefully managed and great care is taken in deciding the time of harvest. Grapes are gently pressed into a mix of fermenters and seasoned French oak barriques. Parcels are inoculated to a combination of cultured aromatic and wild indigenous yeasts. Batches vinified at cooler temperatures retain the naturally vibrant fruit character, barrel ferments contribute wonderful textures to the finished wine.
 
Light lemon hue. A beautifully lifted nose of lemongrass, passionfruit, lemon sherbet and green herb aromas. Intensity and complexity are the hallmarks, the palate offers great concentration, with crisp acidity providing freshness, whilst emphasising the mineral/ chalky character and length of the wine. Juicy citrus, zingy lime, passionfruit and fresh cut grass flavours all feature.
