Corte Giara was founded in 1989 by the venerable Allegrini label and a community of growers in Valpolicella, the renowned winemaking district at Veneto in the northeast of Italy. $2599each $311DOZEN EACH DOZEN From vines averaging nineteen years of age, planted to morenic terrains, rich in skeletal elements and well drained, trained to Guyot system trellis, on the eastern hills of Garda Lake, at altitudes of 200 to 250 metres above sea level, with a south to southwest exposure. Careful management of vineyards ensures a significant reduction in the impact of unfavourable climatic events, achieving the most well balanced wine. Pinot Grigio is hand harvested, grapes are gently pressed, the juices inoculated and vinified in controlled fermenters at moderate temperatures over the course of several days, followed by partial malolactic and spell of unoaked maturation to enhance the bright varietal Pinot Grigio characters.

Bright straw yellow colour. The bouquet expresses the greener notes from the vine, judiciously sweetened by scents of acacia flowers. Dry and fresh on the tongue, frank and decisive, harmonious. Elegant and persistent, it leaves the palate with a wide, full and savoury taste. A mouthfilling wine that will be appreciated for its fine character, elegance and richness on the nose and palate as well as for its affinity to fine food.

Soave by name and suave by nature, the rejuvenating white wines from this tiny commune in the Veneto, are enjoyed around the globe for their remarkable approachability and stylish old world charm. Corte Giara is a cooperative of the best growers, they assemble their harvests every vintage to create a Denominazione di Origine Controllata, a predominantly Garganega wine in the tradition of the region, vinified alongside a component of locally grown Chardonnay. The perfect aperitif wine, a match to Al fresco and creamy risottos.

While remaining true to their regional Italian roots, they are innovatively crafted with inclusions of expatriate varietal grapes to create wines of great interest. Harvests of Garganega and Chardonnay, are all hand picked off fully mature vines in their third decade, grown to volcanic calcareous soils and trained to the Pergola system, planted to southeast facing hillsides at 150-250 metres above sea level in D.O.C. Soave. Bunches are destemmed and gently crushed into fermenters for a day of cold settle maceration, vinified for up to ten days at a cool 15C, followed by partial malolactic in October and four months unwooded maturation.

Intense straw yellow hue, green highlights. Classic Verona nose, inviting and fresh, wild flowers and white peach characters, vibrant vegetable notes. Refreshing fruit within a supply structured, well rounded palate, juicy green vegetable characters and sliced pear flavours, before a cleansing, pleasingly dry finish.
